Constellation Stories

In the Face Book group:
Someone posted a fantasy story about how our ancestors told entertaining stories using the characters in the constellations.
My comment:

The first paragraph missed a critical detail. Many of our distant ancestors and later ancient cultures needed/used the constellations to track the motions of the moon and planets. Eventually these motions were even recorded. for example; from wiki:

Somewhere around the 5th century BCE, Babylonian astronomical texts began to describe the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets in terms of 12 equally-spaced signs, each one associated with a zodiacal constellation, each divided into 30 degrees. This normalized zodiac is fixed to the stars and totals 360 degree
