Here is a study of quasars by BeppoSAX concluding the quasar AGN is a source of synchrotron radiation not thermal radiation.

A follow up to the last comment, with the link to the study.
synchrotron radiation X-rays are used in a hospital, with a strong electric current in a strong magnetic field. This is not thermal radiation.
A very hot accretion disk generating X-rays must be via thermal radiation.
